ECUF NEWS Report (April 2021)

The year 2020 witnessed a remarkable revival in the history of Ebira Christian Unity Fellowship (ECUF). All ECUF branches throughout the nation were united together with the home branch to execute the planned activities for the year despite the Covid 19 pandemic. The Abuja brethren took the sole responsibility to sponsor All Ministers interactive Conference and actively participated In preparation for Ebira Bible Day. These were the achievement of the year 2020:

Media Outreach

The two ECUF radio programme were on the air at TAO FM 101.9 uninterrupted. Ebira Bible daily reading was sponsored by ECUF Home Branch and the Gospel vibes on Sunday 2-3 pm supported by ECUF Abuja.

Ministers’ Interactive Conference

The programme held on 17th September, 2020 at St Paul Anglican Church Okengwe pulled over four hundred ministers across denominations together. The emphasis was on unity in diversity. Our common goal is preaching Christ to win Anebira for the Kingdom of God.

Ebira Bible Day

The solemn event was held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Okengwe on October, 31st 2020. The turnout was massive and full of life. A large crowd of procession from Ihima was met at Osoma by Kogi Central CAN Women Wing. They sang and danced to the venue. The occasion featured Ebira Christian Music, from two music artists, Ebira Bible reading competition, translation and literacy update by Rev. S. S Ariba and paper presentation by Very Rev. Fr. Jude Ododo, (The Benefit of Using Ebira Bible). The activities were, informative, educative, and inspiring. Amidst the activities, the Youth Wing Executives were inaugurated.

Audio Recording of Ebira Bible

In the year under review, four of our brethren were sponsored by the Bible Society of Nigeria to Uganda to produce the audio of the entire Bible. They were held up there as a result of the corona virus lockdown throughout the world owing to the effect of the pandemic. God protected and brought them back safely after four months of lockdown. To God be the glory the work is ready on the net for all to download and enjoy.

Appreciation

We wish to appreciate profoundly all those who contribute in one way or the other to make the programmes successful: the various committee members that planned the programmes, Churches, Ministers and all those who  did not only attend but donated handsomely for the progress of the work. We want to specially thank the brethren from Abuja who solely sponsored the September 12th Ministers Interactive Conference. We also thank those from Lokoja, Ajaokuta and other places for their interests and donations. We appreciate our erudite Guest Speaker at the Ebira Bible Day, very Rev.Fr.Jude Ododo for the paper he presented. May God reward you all.

THE YEAR 2021 PLANNED PROGRAMMES

At the first meeting of the year, the fellowship planned the following programmes for the year 2021

2021 Ebira Bible Day

It was resolve during the 2018 edition that Ebira Bible Day would be an annual event and fixed for the last Saturday of October every year it was concluded that no Church in the Land should hold any programme same day, same time. It is a time of celebrating the living word of God together.

This date falls on Saturday 30th October, 2021. We therefore appeal to all heads of denominations, Churches and Individual Pastors to take note of the day to avoid clashes with the programme. Other information shall be communicated by the committee in charge as at when due.

Daily Reading of Ebira Bible

The daily reading of Ebira Bible on TAO FM 101.9 radio after 10 ‘o clock news continues. Please tune in to listen to the living word of God in Ebira language. You are welcome to be one of those who are sponsoring the programme through ECUF Home Branch. ECUF, Abuja Branch Sponsors a weekly program tagged, “Gospel Vibes” anchored by Pastor Mike Moses every Sunday by 2:00 to 3.00 pm on

TAQ 101.9 FM. Christians are advised to please listen to the programme and ensure to make responses to encourage the sponsors and the anchor person.

ECUF Youth Conference:

This is slated to hold the last Saturday of May 2021. The theme of the conference is “The Christian Youth and the Challenges of Evangelism in Ebiraland”. The Youth Wing of ECUF at home is to mobilize all Christian youth across denominations to wake up to win the land for Christ.

ECUF Women Workshop:

This is proposed to hold the second week of July, 2021. The emphasis will be, “The Essence of unity in the battle for soul winning of Ebira women”. All Ebira Christian Women are invited to the workshop; Further information will be released when due.

Ebira Literacy for Churches

Literacy workshop this year is targeted to reach churches in Okengwe and Okene axis. Detailed information will be communicated later. It is aimed to equip Participants to read and write Ebira Language with ease in view to interact with Ebira Bible. Churches can make arrangement to train their Pastors for effective use of the Bible copies in their possession. We appeal to those who had the training to read all bible passages in Sunday school lessons, Bible studies and Sunday services. Train the trainers’ workshop will hold alongside.

Ebira Jesus Film Outreach:

The fellowship wishes to inform individuals and pastors that Jesus film show in Ebira which is otherwise known as, “ljeesu aa ka Ebira” is available to boost your revival services and crusades. A token will be

charged for transportation and personnel. It is available in VCD plate at the cost of N300.00 at ECWA Challenge, Okene.

GENERAL APPEAL:

Please inform other Christians, unbeliever friends and relations to listen to Bible reading in Ebira on TAO 101.9 FM at 10.00 am after News in Brief daily.

We encourage all Churches to use New Testament Audio for early morning cry. The hearing of the word will not be in vain. We also appeal to all Anebira Christians to actively participate in the mission, ECUF Home Branch by attending our meetings Behind Always Filling Station, Adjacent Ohumanaka, Idoma-Ovehira.

We solicit your financial support to enable us executes our programmes. It is our corporate responsibility to keep ECUF activities and Bible Translation work alive.
